Contract Renegotiation and Systems Consolidation · For CFOs and CEOs
Savings in a spreadsheet are not savings on an invoice.
I lead the technology contract renegotiation, make the consolidation decisions with you, and hold vendors and integrators to their commitments. Every saving is tracked against a baseline you sign, using your invoices.
Book a 30-minute callWhy the savings slip
Vendors wait out busy finance teams. The renewal quote arrives a few weeks before the notice date, nobody has time to challenge it, and it gets signed. After an acquisition, two of everything keeps running long after the deal closed, because nobody owns the decision to switch one off.
A register of opportunities does not change that. Someone senior has to sit across from the vendor, make the consolidation calls, and keep going until the number shows up on an invoice.
What you get
- A signed baseline of committed spend, agreed with you in writing
- A negotiation strategy for each vendor
- Me in the room for the negotiations
- A decision memo for each system to retire or merge, with cutover dates
- A monthly savings tracker, measured against your invoices
- A handover pack, so your team owns the result
Post-Acquisition Integration
After an acquisition
Post-acquisition systems integration is where duplicate spend hides longest: two point-of-sale contracts, two payments processors, two support desks. The same program runs here, with more of my time and a playbook for the cutovers.
I owned the technology workstream that put 265 locations, three legal entities and 3,000+ users on one ERP after a merger, and led the technical cutover on a nine-month deadline. It finished on time and on budget.
What the integration variant adds
- An integration playbook: which systems survive, in what order, and what each cutover requires before it is declared done
- An independent owner of the technology side of the deal, who holds the integrator and the vendors to one shared outcome
- A view of the duplicate contracts both companies brought to the deal, with the notice dates that decide when each can end
What it is not
I don't configure systems, migrate data or write code. Your integrator does that, and I hold them to it. I take no vendor commissions and hold no reseller agreements, so the advice on what to keep and what to replace is mine alone.
How it starts
Most clients start with the Technology Spend and Contract Diagnostic. If you sign the Program within 60 days of the Diagnostic readout, part of the Diagnostic fee is credited against it.
The Program runs three to six months on a fixed number of days a month, agreed before we start.
Common questions
- Do I need the Diagnostic first?
- Usually. The Program starts from a signed baseline, and the Diagnostic is the fastest way to build one. If you already have a reliable baseline you can share, I can start from that.
- How do you count savings?
- Against the baseline you sign, on your invoices. A saving in an approved plan is projected until it shows up on an invoice. The tracker shows both, labelled.
- Do you replace our integrator?
- No. I don't configure systems, migrate data or write code. Your integrator does that, and I hold them to it.
