Privacy Policy

Overview

This website (sterntechadvisory.com) is operated by Morris Stern in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. This policy describes what the site collects, how it is delivered and stored, and how to ask for access, correction, or deletion. It describes the site as currently implemented rather than making general commitments.

What the contact form collects

The contact form collects exactly these fields:

• Name (required)
• Work email (required)
• Company (optional)
• Topic, chosen from a fixed list (required)
• Message (required)

The form also contains a hidden field that humans do not see. It exists to detect automated submissions and is discarded.

Please do not include confidential, proprietary, security-sensitive, or personally identifiable information in the message. The form is not a secure channel and messages are delivered as ordinary email.

What resource downloads collect

Some guides and checklists are gated behind a short form. Where that is the case, the fields requested on that form are the only fields collected, and they are used to deliver the requested file and to reply if you asked a question. They are not added to a marketing list.

How submissions are delivered

Form submissions are sent by the site to a server-side route, which composes an email and delivers it through Resend, a transactional email provider, to a mailbox monitored by Morris Stern. Submissions are not written to a database on this site. The resulting email is retained in that mailbox.

To limit abuse, the submitting IP address is used as a temporary rate-limiting key held in Upstash Redis. That key expires automatically and is not linked to the message content or used for any other purpose.

Analytics and cookies

This site loads three analytics or measurement services:

• Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies and collects standard web analytics data such as pages viewed, referring URLs, approximate location, and device and browser characteristics.
• Vercel Analytics, which records aggregate page-view data without cookies.
• Vercel Speed Insights, which records page performance measurements without cookies.

The site does not run advertising networks or retargeting pixels. No cookie consent banner is shown; if you prefer to block analytics cookies, your browser settings or an extension can do so, and the site will continue to work.

Scheduling widget

The contact page loads a script from Calendly that renders an inline scheduling widget, so visiting that page causes your browser to connect to Calendly. If you book a time, the details you enter go to Calendly directly under Calendly's own privacy policy. The site records only that the widget was opened, as an analytics event, and does not receive the contents of what you type into it.

Third-party processors

• Vercel, which hosts the site and provides analytics and speed insights
• Resend, which delivers contact and resource emails
• Upstash, which stores short-lived rate-limiting keys
• Google Analytics, which provides site analytics
• Calendly, which provides the scheduling widget

Some of these providers process data outside Canada. Your information is not sold, rented, or shared with anyone else except where required by law.

Retention

Emails generated from this site are retained in the recipient mailbox until they are no longer needed for the conversation they relate to, and are deleted on request. Rate-limiting keys expire within minutes. Analytics data is retained according to each provider's own retention settings.

Access, correction, and deletion

You can request a copy of what has been retained about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing morris@sterntechadvisory.com. Requests are answered directly. Because submissions are held as email rather than in a database, a deletion request is fulfilled by deleting the relevant messages.
